For all the Glory of France

On the facade of the left and right wings in large god letters is branded, and Versailles is most definitely a French Brand: "A TOUTES LES GLOIRES DE LA FRANCE". I don't speak French, but I think it says "For all the Glory of France?" Versailles is so glorious, so sumptuous, so extravagant it should read "For all the glory of humanity"
Because: Like the Apollo project, St. Peters Basilica and the Forbidden Palace, this is a creation so vast that all in humanity can bask in its achievement and say honestly and with pride "We built this."
The Palace and the Gardens where constructed to the whims of the Sun King, its a 17th Century Tower of Babel, the Pharaoh Ozymandias should have lived here. The Gardens, themselves would take a week to explore and a life time to take in, remember this took a life time to build. The Palace has so many rooms, it has rooms I didn't even knew existed; a war room, a peace room, a clock room, a opera room, a billards room. There is a room in Versailles for every flavor of the capricious human character.

Magnificent at all hours, it is at Sunset Versailles reveals its Majesty. The sun shines low over the sculptured gardens and artificial lakes and the building glows. It turns gold all over, its one of the most remarkable things I have ever seen.
Was it all worth it for Louis? It bankrupted France, and became the symbol of the decadence of Absolute monarchy. The palace and the gardens are remarkable because they are the physical manifestations of one mans desire. All men have a Versailles in them. A palace of grandeur that they would build if they could. The Sun King managed to make it. I cant afford mine, so I am glad that I can see his

The above is  redundant. Molliere said in a few lines what I have tried in several.

"Its is a Chateau  that may be called an enchanted palace, since the artistic adjustments have so effectively helped nature's efforts in perfecting it."
